Last Friday was Colorado Mountain College Rifle's 50th anniversary celebration and art show, and two of my pieces were accepted into the show! there were two parts of the show, a student side, and a juried side. The student show displayed work from ALL of the students who entered. Regardless of the piece, all students were entered into the show. The juried show was more selective, in that only the top chosen pieces were chosen to be in the show. I had a piece in both.Read More
Next week CMC Rifle will be holding their 50th anniversary celebration with an art show. And it just so happens I will be displayed alongside many other artists in the show!
From what I was told, there are two parts to the show, a student showing, and a juried show. The student show is open to all students, and every piece that is entered will be in the show. The Juried show is a little bit more selective, in that only a certain amount of pieces will be chosen to be in the show, only the top pieces as chosen by the judges. I have been selected to be in both shows, showing two seperate pieces, one in each. All entries are eligible to win a cash prize, being given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place pieces, and each artist is allowed to sell their piece if they so choose.
For the student part of the show, a picture I took of Davey Havok of AFI, entitled "The Despair Factor" was chosen by the judges. For the juried show, the judges selected my photo of Doc Holliday's grave, entitled "Doc's Ghost". (Shown below)
I am incredibly thrilled and honored to be a part of this show, and cannot wait to see my stuff hanging next to other valley aritsts! Anyone is welcome to come, all they ask is that you RSVP here. They want to get an idea for how many people will be there, and how much food to provide. Yes, there will be free food. That is the single greatest incentive to bring people out, isn't it?! So come hang out, stuff your face, check out some killer local art, and buy my shit!!!! I will love you forever!! hahahah

Fantastic article in today’s paper about the art show, and my friend who is putting it on. They also have one of my favorite photos I took of her, “Blank Canvas” featured in the article.
